36 – LLAMAR – TO CALL

To call:  telefonear, llamar
1. telefonear: Call me tonight.  Llómame esta noche.
2. llamar:  Call your father to dinner.  Llama a tu padre a cenar.
3.  un apodo: My name is Anthony, but they call me Tony.  Mi nombre es Antonio, pero me llaman Tony.
No se dice “call to”.
Call the children.  Llama a los niños.
Call David.  Llama a David.
Use los pronombres de complemento (de la Lección 27) después de  “call”.  call me, call you, call him, call her, call us, call them

Call tambien es un sustantivo.

There is a call for you.   Hay una llamada para ti.
